Yeah, It Kinda Is

I haven’t been ghosted with nary a word, but I have been totally shut down with no explanation and no opportunity to ask questions and get answers. I guess that this person felt that I didn’t deserve that small kindness and that I had been given the reason for her decision in spite of my earnest protestations that I was in the dark. And this person also felt it necessary to issue an unnecessary and unwarranted warning. Should I ever get an unlikely apology, explanation, or answers to my now moot questions from this person, it would doubtlessly feel like a rather hollow thing.
Given that I can’t imagine anyone expecting and wanting to be ghosted, it is somewhat staggering to realize that this is actually a thing. Yet it clearly is and it isn’t just the middle school set doing it. That is a rather depressing and disheartening reality to acknowledge. One can only hope that the victims of this practice treat themselves with kindness, practice good “emotional first aid” (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/tending-to-those-emotional-wounds) or self-care, and seek competent, professional help if they are struggling in coming to terms with the cruel or thoughtless treatment that they have received.
