What Happened to The Donnas?

I enjoyed the short YouTube video “The Donnas The Rise & Fall Of The Band Behind ‘Take It Off’” documenting the story of The Donnas. I hadn’t considered that the changes in the music industry with music streaming (and piracy?) in the early 2000s had an impact on the band. I knew that drummer Torry Castellano was sidelined by tendinitis that ultimately led to her retirement from a music career, but I wasn’t aware of singer Brett Anderson’s problems with alcohol. And I certainly didn’t know about how 9/11 affected the band’s tour.

It seems a shame that the members of the band hadn’t been born earlier and hadn’t come along earlier so that they could have benefited from possibly being a bigger part of the music scene of the 1990s or even the 1980s. But then again, maybe they came along at just the right time. Who knows? The band clearly made an impression regardless.
