This random thought relates to those that suffer from arachnophobia and those that find arachnids a bit creepy. What if spiders and scorpions chirped like crickets? What if you couldn’t see them, but they advertised their presence with chirps? How nerve-racking would that be? As it stands, the folks at Apple Pest Control of Helotes, Texas claim that, “This phobia is also the oldest and most common in Western culture….”

What if you were terrified of crickets?! The phobic fear of crickets is known as orthopterophobia.
