“Holding Out For A Hero” (Bonnie Tyler)
I recently made my first and only visits to the Grand Canyon’s South Rim (https://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/index.htm) and the Lees Ferry-Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (https://www.nps.gov/glca/planyourvisit/lees-ferry.htm). So it only seems fitting that I share this music video from the late Bonnie Tyler that includes some spectacular Grand Canyon scenes. And yes, I previously shared it earlier this year upon hearing the announcement of Bonnie Tyler’s passing (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/holding-out-for-a-hero-bonnie-tyler).
I’m not in the best shape right now to be the “hero” with the possible exception of stepping up, taking the hits, and soaking up the punishment and the pain so that somebody else doesn’t have to take those hits. I have been sporadically working out for a variety of reasons and need to recommit to getting more consistent and getting back into shape for both myself and those that care about me. Maybe I should add this song from the Footloose soundtrack to my training playlist. I’m not the first formerly fit guy to get out of shape and put on some unwanted weight. I wouldn’t be the first guy to battle back and get back into fighting shape.
