The Time of Your Life by Lake Lure

Thirty-six years ago today, Dirty Dancing premiered in the United States and charmed moviegoers (if not all the critics) with its story of an idealistic teen and a dance instructor from the wrong side of the tracks falling in love at a resort in the Catskills. One of the film locations in North Carolina has charmed locals and visitors long before that. Lake Lure was one of two primary film locations (the other was in Virginia) and the film certainly captured the beauty of region.
