The Prospect of New Storm Clouds in the South Atlantic

The Mark Felton Productions YouTube channel (@MarkFeltonProductions) looks at the prospect of a second war between the United Kingdom and Argentina over the Falkland Islands in its latest video (click on the link below). If you have visited this pirate’s humble blog before, you may recall that I have posted before regarding the 1982 Falklands War between the two nations in my post, “A Short, Sharp, Significant War in the South Atlantic” (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/a-short-sharp-significant-war-in-the-south-atlantic). In that post, I shared links to a handful of videos on the Falklands War published by the Imperial War Museums.

Mark Felton Productions shares what has changed regarding the two nations and their ability to conduct amphibious, air, land, and naval operations in what is one of the earth’s least hospitable locations in which to fight a war. Knowing what I know of the decline of the once mighty Royal Navy, I can’t say that I am particularly surprised by the video’s assessment should Argentina successfully seize the Falkland Islands. With that being said, it also acknowledges the challenges and difficulties that would be faced by the Argentinian military in taking the Falkland Islands.
