The Power of Dreams?

Like everyone else I expect, I have had my experiences with déjà vu. Experiences that felt as though I had dreamt of them beforehand or had already experienced them. But I can’t, of course, say with any certainty that my dreams have actually ever been predictive of the future.

Dreams have likely been subject to speculation as to their hidden meanings, if any, and their possible power to foretell the future since the beginning of human existence. The Biblical account of Joseph interpreting the pharaoh’s dreams comes to mind.

So why do I bring this up now? Well, years ago I had a dream that included someone from my distant past. Shortly after that, this same person contacted me out of the blue. We made arrangements to meet and catch up with each other. While things between us started off well, in time things ended between us and it was figuratively bloody (well, at least for me).

I had found it intriguing that I had dreamt of this person just prior to her reconnecting with me over a decade since we had last spoken to one another. And if that dream constituted a warning, I misinterpreted it and missed the warning. Let’s just say that if I have a dream about the Russians, I am feeling inclined to anticipate an apocalypse and take shelter in the basement. 😉
