The Most Popular Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) for 2026

Last year, Professor DM of the Dungeon Craft YouTube channel (@DUNGEONCRAFT1) devoted two videos to an examination of the most popular, best-attended games at last year’s Gen Con. Professor DM is back this year with an updated list based upon what was seen at Gen Con 2026 and once again I am sharing his list on this pirate’s humble blog.

It will give you an idea about what is available and what is popular. It’s worth noting that, while there are an abundance of TTRPGs out there to play, you will likely have more luck finding an existing gaming group to join that already plays one or more of the more popular games.
