I recently posted regarding “The Most Popular Tabletop Roleplaying Games for 2025 (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/the-most-popular-tabletop-roleplaying-games-ttrpgs-for-2025). In that post, I provided a link to a video by Professor DM of the Dungeon Craft YouTube channel in which he lists the most popular games at this year’s Gen Con. In the notes attached to that particular video, he acknowledges that he made a mistake by not including the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game. He has since posted a corrected list in the notes for today’s “Why Critical Role Dumped Daggerheart for D&D” video (https://youtu.be/PuyDzILqg8U), as well as providing the criteria he used for compiling his list in the video.
For those that might be interested, I have provided the corrected list below. And if you are interested in learning why the gaming show Critical Role is going to be using the most recent edition of Dungeons & Dragons or D&D for their next season, I encourage you to click on the link above.
As someone that has been collecting tabletop roleplaying games or TTRPGs for a few years now and that has just started dipping my toes back into the hobby, I currently have the rules (as well as accessories and related material) for seven of the games on the list including the 2014 5th edition of D&D.
