“Summer Nights” (John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, and the cast of the movie Grease)

Well, Labor Day has passed, summer is unofficially over, and the kids are back in school. Perhaps you, like Danny Zuko (John Travolta) and Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John) in Grease, even had a summer fling. Hopefully the memories of your summer (and your fling, if you had one) keep you warm until next summer.

Last year, I got to enjoy the Timber Lake Playhouse production of the musical, Grease. In 2000, I sang a song from the movie with a friend’s girlfriend and future wife at the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta after taking my turn on the mechanical Bull. Before that, in my teenage years and early years of adulthood living on the Carolina coast, I too chased the girls visiting the beach on vacation. Ah, to be young again.
