Remembering a Dark Day at Arlington Park Racetrack

I touched on what appears to be the sad end to thoroughbred racing at the Arlington International Racecourse in a previous blog post. Below is a link to a news broadcast about the fire that swept through the grandstand in 1985, destroying it and bringing about the construction of a new facility that I visited last week. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that Arlington International Racecourse will rise from the ashes like a phoenix this time.
