Perhaps It Is Inevitable

I remembered this statement above by Tom Cruise's Brian Flanagan in the movie, Cocktail, while thinking about how relationships sometimes end badly. Brian's sugar momma girlfriend, Bonnie, bemoans the idea of their relationship ending badly and this is his response. Perhaps it is somewhat inevitable, at least some of the time.
