“Head over Feet” (Alanis Morissette)

I heard this song again a few early mornings ago and I thought that I would share it. It reminds of a relationship that I once had where it took the young woman a while to make up her mind on me.

The young woman told me that one of her family members commented to her that for someone that she wasn't dating, she sure brought me up an awful lot. She had evidently mentioned to this family member that she was concerned that I might meet someone while she was out of town and that I might be getting intimate with someone else. Apparently, she realized that she really saw me as more than just a friend.

Anyway, upon her return from visiting her family, I could tell something had changed in our relationship. She started acting more like my girlfriend. We eventually talked about it. She admitted that she had romantic feelings for me. She even cried and expressed her regret for keeping me dangling for as long as she did.

This song is an interesting one and if you have ever had to work and wait to win someone over, perhaps it will feel like a familiar story to you.
