Good Advice for Ladies and Gentlemen

I came across this a while back and I had intended to share it with a brief comment that this is good advice and leave it at that. And it is indeed good advice. But this advice is also applicable when someone stops loving you and when you discover that someone doesn’t care about you.

You may have been in a relationship with a person and believed that he or she loved you and cared for you. Perhaps he or she did at one time. Perhaps not. But the past is the past. It’s a melancholy place in which to try and live. Lonely too. You deserve better (a friend once reminded me of that).

There are women that I have dated that I believed cared for me even as the relationship was ending. And there are women that I have dated that seemed intent upon demonstrating that I really meant nothing to them and perhaps never did. Regardless, life is busy, it is short (although it can seem long during bad times), and your time is limited and valuable. You shouldn’t be wasting your time on someone that doesn’t care for you, that doesn’t want to spend some of their limited time with you, and that has moved on to other opportunities/possibilities or that was just marking time with you until someone else came along. You deserve to enjoy the company of someone that lights up when he or she sees you and when he or she has the opportunity to spend time with you. As Vanessa points out in her tweet above, “You are worthy of that! For what it is worth, I agree.
