Getting to Know H. P. Lovecraft a Little Better

I am looking forward to an upcoming vacation in Rhode Island that is slated to see me flying into and out of Providence, the hometown of noted horror and weird fiction author, H. P. Lovecraft. While certainly not a vacation that is expected to be a celebration of the author and his work, knowing that I am going to be in his hometown has intensified my interest.

I have read his novella, The Shadow Over Innsmouth (https://gregorymaness.wixsite.com/website/post/the-shadow-over-innsmouth) and I have purchased a collection of his works with the intention of reading more of his stories. I have also listened to The Lovecraft Investigations podcast on the BBC Radio 4 website (https://gregorymaness.wixsite.com/website/post/looking-to-delve-further-into-the-world-of-lovecrafti) and I thoroughly enjoyed the series of stories.

I plan to take a moment in the next few days to watch a relatively short Lovecraft documentary on the Biographics YouTube channel after having enjoyed watching the Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown documentary (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGIH2nVRcIQ) currently being offered on Amazon Prime. H. P. Lovecraft was clearly a talented and ultimately influential writer. And he represents, I think, a very interesting character study.
