“Fields of Gold” (Sting)

This poignant Sting song brings to mind a simple man beseeching his love to join him in living a pastoral life and raising a family together. Or at least a man utilizing the beautiful scenery to help woo his beloved. Sting himself has shared the thinking behind the lyrics.
Personally speaking, it reminds me of the Christopher Marlowe poem, "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love" (https://poets.org/print/poem/b3c6c6cf-f4bc-4413-8adf-3194073bbafa).
I am no shepherd and I am no farmer, but the vision being painted by Sting is enticing. I am not a poet either, but perhaps I should work to change that. 😃
