Farewell, Buddy.

As I mentioned in a previous blog post, “Do I Have the Blues? You’re Damn Right I Have the Blues!”(https://gregorymaness.wixsite.com/website/post/do-i-have-the-blues-you-re-damn-right-i-have-the-blue), I had tickets for Buddy Guy’s Damn Right Farewell tour. However, because of a health/medical concern, a number of concert dates were rescheduled for 2024. That included the concert for which I had tickets. Last night, I had the bittersweet pleasure of seeing Buddy Guy perform for likely the last time that I will get to see him perform in person. He still puts on an amazing performance. Last night, I also got to see him perform alongside his son, Greg Guy (electric guitar), and his daughter, Carlise D. Guy (vocals).
In spite of this being his farewell from touring, I wouldn’t be surprised if Buddy Guy plays an occasional blues event or tribute concert or takes the stage occasionally at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago. If he does, I certainly hope that I have the good fortune to find myself in attendance.
Thanks for the fun, the music, and the memories, Buddy! 👏🤩
