Enjoying Some Samuel Adams at the Source

Last week I paid a visit to the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery as part of my vacation in Massachusetts. It was my second visit and I had a great time. This is the birthplace of every variety of beer in the Samuel Adams line except for their original beer, Samuel Adams Boston Lager.

In addition to some Samuel Adams Boston Lager and some Samuel Adams Summer Ale, I got to try the Samuel Adams 3 Bobs Ale which may or may not be released nationally. The Boston Brewery is the company’s research and development site and they get feedback to help them to decide what beers they release for nationwide distribution. I also picked up some limited release Samuel Adams Black Harbor Stout and some limited release Samuel Adams Barrel Aged Marzen to enjoy here in Illinois.

The beer garden has been improved/renovated since my previous visit and it was great to sit outside on a fine summer day and enjoy a flight of beers that I had not tried before, a tasty Samuel Adams Summer Ale, and some tortilla chips with beer cheese. I highly recommend that you take one or more of the tours that they offer if you are a beer-drinker and you are in the area. If I lived in the area, particularly in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood, I could definitely see spending some time in the beer garden with friends. I wonder if they need a truck driver. 🤔
