Do You Offer Half-Hour Sessions?
Molly: Roy, Roy... why are you here?
Roy: Therapy.
Molly: You've come for therapy? Okay, look, Roy, you know, you really need to make an appointment. Because I have a client in a half an hour.
Roy: That's enough time. Thirty minutes? Hell, I'm not THAT fucked up.
This is from a scene in the movie, Tin Cup. Kevin's Costner's Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy shows up unannounced and without an appointment at the office of Rene Russo's Dr. Molly Griswold. He wants some counseling, but he clearly doesn't think that it will take long. š
I don't play golf. I always said that if I hit a ball, somebody else was going to chase it. I've been asked by baseball teammates to accompany them for a round of golf to hang out, drive the cart, and drink beer. But the beach and bodyboarding or some other leisure option always won out. I did once accompany my brothers just to hang out with them. I can certainly understand how challenging the game must be and I can see why people play. I could see me giving it a try someday, if I live long enough. Even though Tin Cup is a sports film and a romantic comedy about a golfer and his pursuit of a woman and golf greatness, you don't have to be a golfer to enjoy it.
Tin Cup is one of my favorite movies. It is funny. It has heart. And the scene in Molly's office is a lot of laughs. š
