A Fun, Blackbeard-Themed Road Trip Through Eastern North Carolina and Virginia

If you are a resident or visitor to the Old North State and you have any interest in Blackbeard, pirates, and/or maritime history, you might want to take some time to explore “Blackbeard’s Trail.” The Hidden Gems USA Travel Facebook account shared what promises to be a great time for anyone interested in those topics.

I am a proud graduate of East Carolina University, home of the Pirates. Given the surrounding coastal area’s ties to pirates including Blackbeard, the school’s nickname shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone familiar with that history.

I have pasted screenshots covering the “Blackbeard’s Trail” route and destinations. Add some stops along the way to enjoy some tasty seafood and Eastern North Carolina pulled pork barbecue and this road trip should make for a great time and some wonderful memories.
