A Couple Tweaks to Further Enhance Your Watermelon Enjoyment
Updated: Dec 23, 2024
I came across a couple articles from Southern Living on eating watermelon and peak watermelon enjoyment. Being that it is summertime and I deliver a lot of watermelon, I thought that I should share the articles.
A summer without delicious, refreshing watermelon would hardly feel like summertime. When I was young, my parents used to buy watermelon from a refrigerated case at the produce stand that used to be located north of Carolina Beach, North Carolina in the community of Seabreeze (https://www.starnewsonline.com/story/news/2014/11/10/history-of-seabreeze-inspires-a-call-for-storie). As I recall, the stand was run by the Freeman family, a prominent black family in the area. The produce stand and the farm is no longer there and the land has been developed, but my memories remain.
I grew up in the South and my parents were from Kentucky. I salt my watermelon. I haven't tried Tajin seasoning on my watermelon. Yet. š š
