I have to be honest here. That tactic isn’t likely to work on me. I typically don’t feel much remorse in the immediate aftermath of a confrontation in which someone decided that it would be a good idea to deliberately provoke me. Usually any remorse that later develops has more to do with me feeling disappointed that I wasn’t in control or that I failed to be the better person. It’s disappointment in myself more than any remorse relating to the person now attempting to play the victim.
In his act, comedian Bill Burr speaks to the idea that he believes that some women use deliberate provocation as a tactic in arguments that they feel that they stand to lose. He then goes on to give men a better plan. A link to the humorous video is pasted below. Just be aware that the language is rather “salty” and definitely NSFW.
