Wondering What If

Decades ago, I had a young woman profess her love for me. I had affectionate feelings for her as well. Unfortunately, I had recently fallen head over heels for another woman that, as it turns out, ultimately didn't care all that much for me.

Life is funny, life is good, and things happen for a reason. I don't regret my decision to pursue the other woman. I had to be true to what my heart was telling me. But I can't help but wonder how things might have turned out between us had I not been so smitten with the other woman. Perhaps my heart betrayed me and cost me a good thing.
