“Whoop Dee Doo” (Jimmy Buffett)

The other night/early morning it was approximately 20 degrees Fahrenheit when I started my "workday". When it gets to that temperature, I can idle my truck indefinitely without it shutting off automatically. That is nice because it allows me to let the interior warm up while I do my trip planning and preparation for my night/morning. Of course, I can't stay in the truck's nice warm interior for the entirety of my labors. When I refueled in LaSalle, Illinois that morning, the air temperature was still in the low 20s and the wind was howling. The cold weather and my mood required that some Jimmy Buffett music be played (I eventually listened to the hard rock music of The Donnas on my way home after delivering my second load).

Mark Knopfler wrote a real gem here and Jimmy sings it just right. We don't have a choice in moving on from a heartbreak. Not really. I will always bear the scars from the experiences that broke my heart and I will carry on in spite of them. I will smile at some memories and shed some tears reminiscing about others. Most of the time the painful memories don't cause me to hold my breath. The experiences and the memories, good and bad, are just part of the price of admission for playing this game. 🥲
