“Two Time My Lovin’” (Joanne Shaw Taylor)

I once had a woman confide to me that a woman with whom I was physically intimate had told her that, while she wouldn’t mind being free to see other guys, she did not want me to see other women. I could see where that arrangement might be attractive to her, but I certainly wouldn’t have agreed to such an unequal relationship. Ironically, I was in love with her, but she wasn’t in love with me.

I can see being in a casual relationship (“We’re not going steady” or “We’re not exclusive”) where we are both free to see other people. But I wouldn’t want to invest too much time, energy, emotion, and resources on a relationship where I am only a possibility or an option for something more meaningful and committed. With that being said, I absolutely love this song which I first heard performed by The Fabulous Thunderbirds. This rendition is very good as well.
