TTRPGs Benefits and Getting Started

Yesterday I watched Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. I enjoyed it. I could visualize a group of friends playing a game of Dungeons & Dragons with similar player characters (PCs) and non-player characters (NPCs) creating a similar story. It got me thinking about the assortment of tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPG) books, box sets, and accessories that I have collected over the last few years including materials for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.

I have written about TTRPGs a handful of times on my blog in which I shared links to articles, videos, and TTRPG publishers. This time I am posting a link to an article on the benefits of playing tabletop roleplaying games and how to get started in the hobby. As I have mentioned before, there are games set in a large variety of settings and that encompass a variety of genres. If one is curious about TTRPGs and wants to give them a try, you should be able to find a game with a genre and a setting that you find interesting. And while the games can bestow a number of benefits upon those that play them, we shouldn't minimize the benefit of having fun with friends and/or family.
