To Bring the Noise or Not to Bring the Noise

That is the question. That question has actually been a question that I have been asking myself since I started this blog.
On one of my previous blogs I enjoyed posting links to songs and/or music videos that I enjoyed. Caring is sharing, right? Typically I would offer up some not particularly insightful or profound thoughts about the artist or band, the song, and/or the music video in question, along with an accompanying link to the music video. The music videos were marginally popular. Sometimes someone would visit a particular music video blog entry and click on the link. At other times they wouldn’t click on the link. Perhaps those that didn’t simply came for my riveting perspective on the artist or band, the song, and/or the music video. 😉
Anyway, I have debated whether or not I should share my love of particular artists, songs, and/or music videos on this new blog. On one hand, I enjoyed sharing these music videos, particularly since many of them were “blasts from the past.” On the other hand, it was perhaps a crutch for those times when I didn’t have much of anything to say. Part of the reason that I have considered not posting links to music videos was because I want to be somewhat committed to saying something on a more frequent basis. Not necessarily profound or enlightening. But I don’t want to go on autopilot and just be a VJ with this new blog.
Sometimes a link to a music video that I posted might get removed because it was posted by someone other than the individual or entity that held the rights to the song/music video in question. Of course, a number of artists now maintain a presence through services like VEVO and YouTube. Other artists will post their videos to their own Websites. Does anyone even watch music videos anywhere else besides the Internet anymore?
Some of my recent posts to this new blog have included links to music videos relevant to the topic. I may continue to do that where it makes sense. But I am now planning to post links to some music videos that I have enjoyed. But no commentary. No explanations for why I like it. Just posting the song title, the performing artist or band, and a link. You can listen and look and decide for yourself whether or not you like the artist or band, the song, and the music video. This way I won’t feel the need to spend time writing commentary that I could devote to something else like coming up with a future topic for another blog post.
Looks like I will be bringing the noise after all. 🤘😎
