The Honey Trap
I came across the tweet above and I considered that I have been fortunate not to be a legitimate target for espionage. Particularly for a "honey trap." When I fall for someone, I fall hard. That is true even if I have some nagging doubts (perhaps in the form of concerned family members or friends expressing their concerns).
Don't get me wrong. I don't believe that I would sell out my country to placate a lover and I would like to believe that I am intelligent enough and sensible enough to see through an attempt to manipulate me via sex and love. But perhaps I am overestimating my abilities. I don't think that I am, so far as selling out my country is concerned. But I have fallen for the wrong woman on a handful of occasions and it has sometimes taken me a ridiculous amount of time to come to that realization. At the very least, such an attempt to manipulate me via a honey trap espionage operation would have the very real potential to break my heart once it became clear what was really happening.
