The Green Faerie

I happened upon bottles of absinthe, a spirit, in a North Carolina liquor store years ago. I was intrigued and did some research into the drink. I was further intrigued by what I read. Then I saw some of the gang on FX's/FXX's animated series, Archer, getting hammered on "Green Russians" and decided that at some point I need to channel my inner Ernest Hemingway and dance with "the Green Faerie."

But more than a few years have passed and I have yet to try absinthe. I just recently came across a Garden & Gun article on using absinthe in preparing shrimp and grits. So perhaps it is time for me to pick up a bottle of absinthe, some sugar cubes, and maybe a couple bottles of Perrier. And maybe some shrimp and grits.
