Something from the Truck Driver Bucket List (An Addendum)

A fellow driver pointed out a truck driving song that I did not mention, “Six Days on the Road” performed by Dave Dudley (I prefer the Sawyer Brown version). There are indeed a handful of other songs about being a truck driver that I have enjoyed while driving an 18-wheeler here in the Midwest. They include:

“Where I Come From”

“Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses”

“Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)”

And, of course there is also “Papa Loved Mama” performed by Garth Brooks. But I don’t plan to drive through a motel room to get a cheating wife. 😉

Being a longtime resident of North Carolina and a Southern boy at heart, I really like “Where I Come From” performed by Alan Jackson. Kathy Mattea’s ”Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses” is a country music classic. And having driven though a couple brutal winters in the Midwest (including Illinois), I like “Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)“ even more than I did before I started driving a tractor-trailer. 😁
