Some Advice from a Pirate

You have been holding onto the idea of something or someone in your life that no longer serves you at this time. Doing this is not productive. You hold on because you are afraid or don’t know what’s next for you. Heed my advice dear one: as soon as you let go, the path reveals itself. It is time to embrace the next stage that life has planned for you. Believe me, it is much better than what’s behind you.

I recently paid a dollar for some words of wisdom from an animatronic pirate amusement machine in a convenience store and got some sage advice that might be broadly applicable to many unhappy or less-than-fulfilled people. So I decided to share it with anyone that might come across this pirate’s humble blog.

Letting go of the past or the vision that we hold of something or someone can be difficult for many people. But you owe it to yourself and your future happiness to let go of a painful past or an idea that is no longer accurate or that was just an illusion. Create closure for yourself if you were denied the opportunity in the past. Tell yourself what you need to tell yourself so that you can move on and build a happy life. As a friend once told me, “Dude you deserve the best don’t think that you don’t!” And it isn’t as though I am a saint or more highly deserving of happiness than the average person. So let go and be happy. Consider that to be an “order” from one pirate to another pirate to you. 🏴‍☠️😁
