Really?! It’s September!

This morning, as I drove to Gary, Indiana to pick up an empty trailer for return to the distribution center, I noticed that my truck’s instrument panel showed the outside temperature as 42 degrees Fahrenheit. That is just ten degrees above freezing.

Granted, it was still dark and I don’t believe that it was entirely accurate. I passed a sign that showed the temperature outside as 49 degrees Fahrenheit. But still! Last Monday was Labor Day!

I’m okay with the impending arrival of autumn, the cooler temperatures, and the changing colors of the leaves, but I am certainly not ready for winter yet.
