"PACK YOUR SHIT AND GET OUT!"

I once awoke to these words that preceded the slamming of the door. This because I couldn't be roused to accompany the young lady that I was living with to the library. Upon her return, she was apologetic and told me that I could stay. But I informed her that I was already packed and that I was leaving.

I had moved in with her due to some father-son drama that led me to leaving home with no real plan. Prior to me moving in we had not been intimate. In fact, when I finally made a move, she playfully told me that it took me long enough and that she "...thought that I was going to have to hit you with a brick." I subsequently returned home after I was thrown out of my "girlfriend's" apartment. We did continue to see each other romantically for a number of months after this, but it ultimately didn't work out between us.

I heard this song again the other morning and I remembered all the teenage angst and drama. 😄
