Halloween is just around the corner and you might be looking for thrills beyond taking treats from people that you can never be entirely sure that you know ("Thanks for the candy, Mr. Gacy!") or fun beyond hiding in the bushes with a primed garden hose waiting to drench would-be hooligans looking to toilet paper your house and trees (as Calvin's dad does one Halloween in the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes). Now you could undoubtedly settle in for a night of spooky movies and television shows. But have you considered gathering your family and/or friends together for a game? If not, perhaps you should.
Now I have shared with some family members and friends that I intend to finish reading the ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game book (https://alien-rpg.com) so that I can play or run a game in the dark, foreboding, and often terrifying universe of the Alien film franchise and its signature xenomorph before the year ends. But there are a number of games out there that could be a lot of fun to play on Halloween and the days and/or nights leading up to Halloween. I have played many games of Zombie Dice by Steve Jackson Games (http://www.sjgames.com/dice/zombiedice/horde/), including the app version of the game. I have also played a fun game of Zombies!!! by Twilight Creations (https://www.twilightcreationsinc.com/zombies-collection), although sadly I have yet to play another game. So you have options to play a variety of tabletop games with a theme that embraces the holiday horror vibe. Not all involve zombies. š§āāļø š§āāļø
There are dice games, board games, tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs), in addition to the popular video games with suspense and horror content and themes. And while you can gather your family and/or friends to play a video game, perhaps you want to try something a little different. I am here to help you out with some ideas. Below are some links to videos covering games that would be a good fit for your Halloween get-together. Of course, you might want to pay a visit to your local game and hobby store where you can get recommendations, watch a demonstration, or even try out one or more games. In any case, I hope that you have a great October and a fun-tastic Halloween 2023. š» š§āāļø š§āāļø š§āāļø š
