Feeling a Little Worn Down

Seems a little odd to admit to this considering that I was on the bench for almost four months last year due to COVID-19 and a pulmonary embolism, but I have been feeling it of late. I am feeling a bit like I am a machine that is being slowly worn down by the day-to-day grind.

I work some brutally long nights. By the time that I come to the end of my five-night workweek, I am in need of a few nights off. But I am going to need to get away for a week or so in the not-too-distant future or something is going to give. Truthfully, two weeks would be even better, but that isn’t going to happen.

This isn’t meant to be a gripe or an “oh woe is me” pity party. It is just an acknowledgment that I am human, that I have limits, and that the demands/tempo will soon necessitate a time to refresh, recover, and recharge. 😓🚛💨
