D&D, Synthesized Music, Competing Visions, and a Revised Set of Rules

As someone that last played Dungeons & Dragons in the 1980s, that has friends and family members that played the game for a longer period of time, that is somewhat familiar with the history of the game and the changes in it, that currently owns copies of the core Dungeons & Dragons, 5E books and the Dungeons & Dragons Essentials Kit , and that hopes to eventually return to the gaming table in the not-too-distant future, I found this video by Matthew Colville about the forthcoming changes to Dungeons & Dragons to be both informative and entertaining. It runs just short of an hour in length, but I recommend it if you're interested in the history of Dungeons & Dragons and the tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) hobby and/or if you're on the fence regarding the promised changes to the current edition of the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset.

I particularly enjoyed the unexpected insight into a battle over the future of synthesized, electronic music that I didn't know had ever taken place. I also enjoyed Mr. Colville's unique personal perspective on the history of Dungeons & Dragons and the TTRPG hobby and what he sees for the future of the hobby.
