Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu
I recently shared my experience with the solo scenario that is the first step in learning to play Call of Cthulhu via the Call of Cthulhu Starter Set (https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/my-harrowing-horrifying-narrow-and-ultimately-delightful-and-thrilling-escape and https://www.apirateontheprairie.com/post/my-harrowing-horrifying-narrow-and-ultimately-delightful-an). My player character (PC), private investigator Max Hudson, survived “Alone Against the Flames.” He was singed, but not consumed by the fire.
I am looking forward to getting back to reading the rules and exploring further in the world of Lovecraftian horror. Call of Cthulhu offers a number of pre-written scenarios for solo gamers, as well as pre-written scenarios for more traditional gaming sessions involving one or more “investigators” and overseen by a “Keeper.”
