“The Chieftain (Real name Nicholas Moran) is a historian and Wargaming America's resident tanker.” In a couple of informative videos, Mr. Morgan’s The Chieftain YouTube channel addresses some of the common misconceptions about the armored forces of the United States during World War II and American tanks including the iconic M4 Sherman tank. You might be surprised to learn that you hold some of these misconceptions yourself, possibly fueled by the movie industry and some historical accounts. Moreover, you may find that you have not given much thought to the development process, the interplay between development of tactical doctrine and the development of new weapons systems, and the logistical challenges that go into equipping the military and getting its equipment and weapons into the fight.

Below are links to the videos and a link to The Chieftain YouTube channel. If you’re a military history buff, I think that you will find the videos and the channel to be interesting, thought-provoking, and informative.
