A Terminator?

In the second movie of the Terminator franchise,Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 Terminator character arrives from the future in a drop lot for trailers across from a biker bar. As someone that occasionally drops and picks up trailers from quiet, deserted drop lots, I can tell you that I typically have my head on a swivel for unexpected threats, be they human or animal. When a possible mountain lion sighting was reported in our area, I was particularly vigilant inside the fences surrounding the distribution center where I pick up loaded (and occasionally unloaded) trailers and drop empty and loaded trailers. I have even imagined the idea of being stalked by a xenomorph from the Alien franchise in these relatively quiet and isolated locations because the characters from the first film have been referred to as “space truckers.” Were such creatures to exist and were one to find itself in that environment, it isn’t difficult to imagine the xenomorph stalking and attacking a lone, isolated truck driver.

With that being said, I have never been on the lookout for a naked actor/bodybuilder/politician/ cultural icon or a cybernetic assassin arriving in flashes of light and apparent electrical discharges reminiscent of lightning. I now have another imaginary foe to imagine as a fanciful distraction from the rather mundane, day-to-day demands of the job. 😉
