Much like as in Jimmy Buffett’s “A Pirate Looks at Forty,” I sometimes feel as if I am a man out of time. I have read, listened to, watched, and studied the stories and accounts of adventurers, heroes, and rogues. My values and my dreams are not in sync with some of today’s fashionable ideas of what constitutes courage, heroics, virtue, and accomplishments.
Yeah, it’s probably a good thing that I didn’t have a sloop or a frigate at my command yesterday. I might have gone “a-pyrating.” 🏴☠️🦜😏
